Made with our own runner beans and topped up by a local grower’s harvest from just the next village.
This distinctive chutney is lovingly handcrafted to capture the bright, garden-fresh character of a much loved summer favourite.
Runner beans have always been grown in my garden, as they were in my childhood. Their crisp, vibrant flavour evokes memories of picking them straight from the plant, snapping them in half and nibbling them whilst bumbling contentedly through the garden.
Here, that nostalgic freshness is transformed into a richly savoury Preserve, with a gently sweetness from Apples. This Chutney is carefully prepared in small batches, using an old family recipe for an unmistakable homemade character.
Serve generously alongside a cheeseboard, particularly a delicious Red Leicester, or enjoy with cold meats, savoury pies and a good old-fashioned “cut and come again” tea.
